Alavés have won their last two home games against Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga, both 1-0, after losing three of their first four home games against them in the competition, all three by 0-1 scorelines.
Following their 1-0 win at Vallecas in October 2024, Rayo Vallecano can achieve a double over Deportivo Alavés in the same LaLiga season for only the second time in history, having previously achieved it in 2001/02 under Gregorio Manzano.
Rayo Vallecano won their last away game against Basque opposition in LaLiga, 2-1 against Real Sociedad in August 2024. Only in 1999/2000 and 2014/15 have they recorded two or more away wins against these opponents in the same LaLiga campaign.
Alavés have not lost any of their last three LaLiga matches (W1 D2) and, should they avoid defeat, they will have their best unbeaten run under a single coach in the competition since April/May 2024 with Luis García Plaza (W3 D1).
Rayo Vallecano have not won any of their last five LaLiga matches (D2 L3), their worst winless run in the competition under Iñigo Pérez.
