Angel City FC completed the league double over Chicago in 2024, recording a pair of one-goal wins, after winning only one of its first four meetings with the Stars (D1 L2). Angel City has never recorded three consecutive wins over a single opponent before.
Angel City FC has attempted 14.2 shots per match this season, second most in the NWSL, while allowing 13.5 shots per match, third most in the league. The 27.7 combined shots per match are the most of any team in the NWSL this season.
All four of Chicago’s points so far this season have come on the road (W1 D1 L3 on the road). The Stars have totaled 24 away points since the start of last season (W7 D3 L8), with only last season’s top four (Orlando, Washington, Gotham, Kansas City) earning more road points in that time.
Alyssa Thompson’s goal in Angel City’s last match was her 25th career regular-season goal contribution (14 goals, 11 assists). At 20 years, 198 days old at the time of that match, Thompson is the youngest player in NWSL history to reach 25 career goal contributions, surpassing Trinity Rodman (21 years, 133 days).
Shea Groom scored her first goal as a member of the Stars in Chicago’s last match, on May 24. Chicago is the fifth different NWSL team Groom has scored a regular-season goal for, becoming the seventh player in NWSL history to score for at least five different teams.
