Benfica have won just one of their last 10 home games against Spanish sides in all European competition (D4 L5), a 3-0 win over Barcelona in September 2021 after two goals from Darwin Núñez and one from Rafa Silva.

Benfica are looking to win their opening two UEFA Champions League matches in a season for just a third time, also doing so in 2015-16 and 2022-23.

Atlético Madrid have only won once in their last nine UEFA Champions League away games (D2 L6), a 3-1 win at Feyenoord in last season’s group stage.
