Benfica vs Barcelona

This will be the 10th meeting between Benfica and Barcelona in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League, with the Portuguese side only winning two of the previous nine (D4 L3).

Barcelona have only lost one of their last 17 games against Portuguese sides in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League (W12 D4), although that lone defeat did come the last time they faced Benfica away from home (0-3 v in September 2021).

Among sides they’ve faced 5+ times across the two competitions, this is their lowest goals per game average (1.67) against an opponent. 

Since winning back-to-back home games in the UEFA Champions League between October 2022 and March 2023 (4-3 v Juventus, 5-1 v Club Brugge), Benfica have only won one of their last seven home matches in the competition (D2 L4). That victory did come against a Spanish side, however, beating Atlético de Madrid 4-0 back in October.
