Chicago won both meetings with Seattle last season, each by 2—1 scorelines, the first time the Stars have recorded consecutive wins over the Reign (31 all-time meetings in all competitions). Chicago has won nine of its 14 all-time home matches against Seattle (D2 L3), its most against any opponent.

Chicago Stars have equaled NWSL records with eight consecutive regular-season home losses (matching Gotham FC in 2022) and five consecutive home losses to begin a season (4th team). The Stars have allowed three goals in three straight home matches for the first time in club history.

Seattle recorded a 2—1 win at San Diego Wave on Friday, the team’s fifth win of the season, all by one-goal margins. In fact, all 11 of the Reign’s matches this year have been drawn or decided by one goal, the second-longest streak to start a regular season in league history (Washington – 18 straight in 2022).

Both of Chicago’s goals on Saturday were scored from outside the box, including Ally Schlegel’s from 34.4 yards, the longest in the NWSL this season. It was the second time in the club’s NWSL history that Chicago scored twice from outside the box in a match, also doing so on April 18, 2015, vs. Seattle.

Lynn Biyendolo has scored 10 regular-season goals against Chicago, equaling her most against any opponent (Portland), including scoring in her last four against the Stars. Biyendolo, who scored in five straight games against Boston Breakers in 2015—16, could become the first player in NWSL history with five-game scoring streaks against multiple opponents.
