Dynamo Kyiv vs Rīgas FS

Dynamo Kyiv’s only previous meetings with Latvian opposition came in qualifying for the 2006-07 UEFA Champions League, beating Metalurgs Liepaja 4-1 away and 4-0 at home.

Latvian sides have lost all four of their games against Ukrainian opponents in all competitions, scoring three goals and conceding 13. This is the first ever such meeting in a major UEFA competition.

Along with Ludogorets and Nice, Dynamo Kyiv are one of just three sides without a win in this season’s UEFA Europa League. The Ukrainian side are winless in 21 matches in major UEFA competition overall, losing 18 (D3).

Rigas FS have never won an away major European match in six attempts (D1 L5), and have lost their last five in a row.
