Borussia Dortmund has won more Bundesliga matches against Eintracht Frankfurt than against any other club (51). In the seven encounters since the start of the 2021-22 season, BVB have picked up 19 out of a possible 21 points, only failing to take maximum points in the 3-3 draw in Frankfurt in the previous season. It is Dortmund's best tally against any team in this period, while the one point is Frankfurt's worst.

Borussia Dortmund picked up just five points from its first eight away games in this Bundesliga season - only in 2003-04 and 2014-15 (4 each) have they scored fewer in this millennium. The 18 goals conceded are BVB's highest tally after eight away games since 1991-92 (20). Eintracht Frankfurt, on the other hand, scored 23 goals in their first eight home matches in the Bundesliga for the first time in 43 years (30 in 1981-82).
