Espanyol have not won any of their last 27 LaLiga matches against FC Barcelona (D7 L20), the longest winless run for any team in a regional derby in the competition's history.

Barcelona have not lost any of their last 15 away matches against Espanyol in LaLiga (W8 D7) and, if they do not lose in the derby, they will equal the longest unbeaten run away from home against the same opponent in their history in the competition, achieved against Villarreal between 2008 and 2024 (G16 W12 D4).

FC Barcelona have achieved 103 wins in 177 LaLiga matches against Espanyol (D40 L34). Only Real Madrid, also against Espanyol (G178 W108 D33 L37), have won more games against the same opponent in the competition ever.

This will be the sixth Catalan derby to be played on a Thursday in the history of LaLiga. FC Barcelona won both of their matches on that day (5-0 vs. CD Sabadell in 1966 and 2-1 vs. Espanyol in 1996), and Espanyol won two of their four (L2), losing the only one played at home (1-2 vs. CD Europa in 1930).

Espanyol have lost their last three LaLiga matches, the same number of defeats as in their previous 17 matches in the competition (W6 D8 L3).
