Everton vs Peterborough

Everton have won their last 10 FA Cup home games against sides from a lower division, keeping seven clean sheets in that time.

Each of the last six Everton managers/management duos have won their first-ever game in charge of the Toffees (Duncan Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez, Frank Lampard, Sean Dyche and Leighton Baines/Seamus Coleman), with all six victories coming at Goodison Park.

Among sides in England’s top four tiers, only Crawley Town (62) and Shrewsbury Town (60) have conceded more goals than Peterborough in all competitions this season (57).

This will be just the second competitive meeting between Everton and Peterborough United, with the Toffees winning 2-1 during a League Cup second round clash in September 2006.

Everton have won just one of their last five FA Cup games (D1 L3), losing at the fourth round stage against Luton Town 2-1 at Goodison Park last season.

Peterborough United have previously faced top-flight opposition 14 times in the FA Cup third round, failing to progress from any of those ties.

Everton have progressed from 14 of their last 15 FA Cup ties against lower league opposition, with the exception coming in a 3-2 defeat to Millwall in 2019.

Peterborough’s last eight FA Cup games have seen 38 goals scored (F20 A18), an average of 4.8 per game. Indeed, there’s been 13 goals in their two games so far this season (F8 A5).
