FC St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt face off in a competitive match for the first time since October 2019 (2-1 away for Frankfurt in the 2nd DFB-Pokal round). In the Bundesliga, Frankfurt won each of the last two duels with the Kiezkickers in the 2010-11 season (3-1 A, 2-1 H), recording as many victories as in the first 10 Bundesliga duels with St. Pauli combined.
FC St. Pauli have won two of their last four Bundesliga games (L2) – as often as in the first 11 matchdays and could celebrate two top flight wins in a row for the first time in 2024-25. Eintracht Frankfurt, however, are unbeaten in 12 Bundesliga games against promoted teams (W9 D3) – the second-longest run in the club's history (after 15 from 2008 to 2012).
Eintracht Frankfurt are without a win in five competitive matches (D1 L4) and have lost the last three of them in a row (four defeats in a row under Dino Toppmöller only in November/December 2023: 4). The last three defeats are now as many as they have conceded in their previous 23 games.
In their last 16 Bundesliga away matches, Eintracht Frankfurt have kept just one clean sheet (4-0 at Heidenheim in early December 2024) – only VfL Bochum has kept fewer (0) among all Bundesliga clubs represented since the start of the second half of 2023-24. In contrast, FC St. Pauli remained goalless in six of their first seven Bundesliga home games this season – the first team in Bundesliga history to do so.
FC St. Pauli (12 goals) and Eintracht Frankfurt (35, last as many after 15 games in a Bundesliga season in 1984-85 – also 35) have the weakest and third-best offences in this Bundesliga season. However, only Bayern Munich (13) have conceded fewer goals in the current Bundesliga season than St. Pauli (19, like Union Berlin); only in 1988-89 did the Kiezkickers allow more goals against in their first 15 games (15).
