FC St. Pauli are unbeaten in their four Bundesliga games against VfL Wolfsburg (W1, D3) – they haven’t faced any other team as often in the top flight without ever losing, while the Wolves haven’t played any side as often without winning at least once. Overall, St. Pauli have only lost one of their 14 games against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga and second division (4-1 A in June 1994, otherwise W5, D8).
Five defeats from the first seven matchdays is a new negative club record for FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga. VfL Wolfsburg have lost four games already – they have never suffered more defeats at this stage in the top flight (most recently 4 in 2022/23).
VfL Wolfsburg have scored in each of their last eight Bundesliga games (for the first time since between October 2022 and February 2023, 12 in a row then). 15 goals after the first seven matchdays has equalled their club record (from 2009/10). The Wolves are just one of four teams to score in every game so far in 2024/25, while opponents St. Pauli have drawn a blank the most often in the division (4 times).
Both of VfL Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga wins, and six of their seven points, have come away from home this season. In Ralph Hasenhüttl’s seven away games to date, VfL have alternated between wins (4) and defeats (3). After winning their last away match in Bochum 3-1, they are due another defeat based on this pattern.
Since a 3-1 win over Gladbach in February 2011, FC St. Pauli have claimed just one point from eight Bundesliga home games (D1, L7). Eight home games without a win is a joint negative club record in the top flight; they have never gone nine in a row without victory. The Kiezkicker are also waiting to score their first home goal this season – they have never drawn a blank in four straight home games within a single Bundesliga campaign.
