Ferencvarosi TC vs Plzen

The only previous meetings between Ferencváros and Viktoria Plzen in European competition came in last season’s UEFA Europa League play-off round with the Hungarian side winning 1-0 at home in the first leg before the Czech side won 3-0 in the second leg.  

Ferencváros are unbeaten in all seven of their previous home games against Czech opposition in European competition (W6 D1), winning each of their three matches this century to nil.

This is the seventh consecutive season in which Ferencváros have competed in major European competition and they have won their opening game in two of the previous six (D1 L3), beating Trabzonspor in the 2022-23 UEFA Europa League and FK Cukaricki in the 2023-24 UEFA Conference League.

Viktoria Plzen have won nine of their last 14 group stage matches in major European competition (D3 L2), having lost nine of 11 before that (W2).

Ferencváros’ Barnabás Varga has scored eight goals in just 10 group stage/league phase appearances in major European competition, netting a third of his side’s 24 goals in the group across the last two seasons.
