Feyenoord vs Red Bull Salzburg

RB Salzburg have ended their eight-match run without a win in the UEFA Champions League (D1 L7), while scoring for the first time in four games. In doing so, manager Pep Lijnders clinched his first win in the competition at the fourth attempt (W1 L3).

RB Salzburg have won each of their last three games against Dutch sides in major European competition, after failing to win any of their first four (D2 L2).

Feyenoord have now lost their last three home matches in the UEFA Champions League, while conceding 10 goals in the process. They had won three in a row prior to their current losing streak on home soil.

Feyenoord and RB Salzburg have never faced before in a European match.

Feyenoord’s last home match against an Austrian team saw them hammer Sturm Graz 6-0 in the UEFA Europa League in September 2022.

This is FC RB Salzburg’s first major European away match against a Dutch side since they won 3-0 against Ajax in February 2014 in the UEFA Europa League.

Feyenoord have won their last two UEFA Champions League games, beating Girona and Benfica. They last won more in a row in the European Cup during 1971-72, a run of five by an aggregate score of 23-0.

RB Salzburg have lost their last four UEFA Champions League matches, their worst ever losing run in the competition. Across their last eight games, they’ve lost seven and drawn one, conceding 17 goals and scoring just twice.
