1. FSV Mainz 05 have lost five of their last seven Bundesliga home games against Bayer 04 Leverkusen (W1 D1) and are winless in their last three (D1 L2). However, Mainz have never gone four consecutive home games without a win against Leverkusen in the top flight.
Mainz 05 have lost their last two Bundesliga matches 6-0 on aggregate, the worst record in the league over the last two matchdays. This is the first time since January 2025 they have lost consecutive Bundesliga games, and they have never lost more under Bo Henriksen.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last 36 away Bundesliga matches (W24 D12), which is currently the longest such run in the competition. In Europe's top five leagues, only Paris Saint-Germain (39 between February 2023 and April 2025) and AC Milan (38 between September 1991 and October 1993) have had longer away unbeaten streaks.
Mainz 05 are only the second team in Bundesliga history, after Greuther Fürth in 2012/13, to lose their first three home games of a season without scoring a goal. They have now gone eight Bundesliga home games without a win (D5 L3) and could equal their club record of nine, set at the start of the 2020/21 season.
Mainz 05 have failed to score in four Bundesliga matches this season, a new club record after six games in the top-flight. Only Heidenheim (four) have netted fewer goals than Mainz’s five in the Bundesliga, while opponents Bayer 04 Leverkusen have scored 12 goals – a tally only surpassed by FC Bayern (25) and Eintracht Frankfurt (17) in this campaign.
