Girona have not lost any of their last four LaLiga matches against Espanyol (W2 D2), their longest run without defeat against them in the top-flight.

Espanyol have lost their last three away games in all competitions against Girona, this after remaining unbeaten in their first four visits to Estadi Municipal de Montilivi (W3 D1).

Girona have conceded at least one goal in all four of their home LaLiga matches against Espanyol (six goals in total); only Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Real Betis, Real Madrid and Villarreal (all five) have kept more clean sheets at home against them in the competition.

This will be the second Catalan derby to be played on a Friday in the history of LaLiga, following the clash between FC Barcelona and Espanyol in November 2013, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the Blaugrana.

Girona have failed to win any of their last eight LaLiga matches (D2 L6), including all six this season (D2 L4), their worst winless start in the top-flight.
