Inter vs Feyenoord

Internazionale have now progressed from each of their last 10 knockout ties in major European competition when winning the first leg away from home, since being eliminated by Bayern Munich at the last 16 stage of the UEFA Cup in 1988-89. 

Feyenoord are winless across their last nine away games in major European competition against sides from Italy (D3 L6), since a 1-0 win over Internazionale in April 2002.

Inter have conceded just two goals in 10 UEFA Champions League matches this season, with their 0.2 conceded on average this term being the lowest of any side in a single campaign in the competition’s history.

Internazionale and Feyenoord have met on three previous occasions in Europe, with both sides winning one game each (D1). Those two victories have both been achieved by the away side, with Feyenoord winning in Italy in April 2002 (1-0) and Internazionale winning in the Netherlands last week (2-0).

Feyenoord are winless in their last eight away matches against Italian sides in European competition (D3 L5), and haven’t managed to win any of their 12 overall matches there by more than a single goal (W2 D3 L7).

Internazionale have won four of their five home games against Dutch sides in the UEFA Champions League (D1), keeping a clean sheet in all four victories. The last Dutch side to face them away from home in the competition did avoid defeat, however, with PSV drawing 1-1 in 2018-19.

Internazionale have won each of their last five home games in the UEFA Champions League without conceding a goal, and have kept a clean sheet in each of the last six. The last side to keep seven straight clean sheets at home in the competition was Atlético de Madrid in April 2015 (7), while the last Italian side to do so was Juventus in December 2002 (7).

Across their 26 away matches in the UEFA Champions League, Feyenoord – who trail by two goals in this tie – have only ever managed one victory by more than a single goal. That victory did come earlier this season, however, beating Benfica 3-1 at the Estádio da Luz in October.
