Inter have won their Serie A opener by five goals for only the third time in their history, the first since 6-0 against Atalanta on 27 August 1961; on the other hand, Torino conceded more than three goals in the first match of a Serie A tournament for the first time in its history.

Inter have won by five goals against Torino in Serie A for only the second time in their history, the first since 28 December 1958 (5-0 at home to the Granata in that case).

Marcus Thuram has become only one of three Inter players to have scored at least two multiple goals in Serie A against Torino (six goals in total for the French), after Giuseppe Meazza (four), Roberto Boninsegna and Virgilio Levratto (both two).

Inter will start a Serie A season under a foreign manager for the first time since 2016 (Frank de Boer in that case). However, the last time the Nerazzurri won on the opening matchday of a league season under a foreign coach was back to 2003, with Héctor Cúper (2-0 home win against Modena); they since have collected three draws (two under José Mourinho and one under Rafael Benítez) and one defeat (under de Boer) in their last four MD1 games of a league campaign.

Inter and Torino will face each other for the six time on the opening matchday of a Serie A season; in their five previous meetings, the Nerazzurri have remained unbeaten (W3 D2) keeping a clean sheet in each of those matches with an aggregate score of 4-0.

Following a run of five successive wins on MD1 of a league campaign, Inter drew their last opening matchday of Serie A season and could draw back-to-back for the first time since August 2007 - August 2010 (four in that case).

Torino have drawn both of their last two MD1 games of a Serie A campaign (0-0 against Cagliari in 2023-24 and 2-2 against Milan in 2024-25); only once have the Granata drawn more games in a row on the opening matchday of a league season; between September 1955 - September 1957 (3).

Inter are unbeaten in each of their last 12 Serie A games against Torino (W11 D1), winning each of their last six against the Granata in the competition (12-2 the aggregate score); only once in their history have the Biscione won more meetings in a row against Torino in the top-flight, between September 2002 - September 2008 (seven in that case).
