Juventus netted two first-half goals in a home UEFA Champions League game for the first time since October 2018 v Young Boys (2-0 at half-time in that game).

This will be the first ever competitive meeting between Juventus and PSV Eindhoven, with the Old Lady’s last game against a Dutch opponent in the UEFA Champions League coming in a quarter-final elimination against Ajax in 2018-19 (2-3 on aggregate, lost 1-2 in the home leg).

PSV Eindhoven have never won away from home against an Italian side in the UEFA Champions League (D2 L4), while they’ve scored just two goals across those six trips.

Juventus have only lost two of their 11 meetings with Dutch sides in the UEFA Champions League (W6 D3), although one of those two defeats did come in the most recent such game – 1-2 v Ajax in the quarter-final second leg in April 2019.

This will be Juventus’ 38th European Cup/UEFA Champions League campaign; the most by an Italian team, and the fourth-most by any club side overall, after Real Madrid (55), Bayern Munich (41) and Benfica (41).

This is PSV’s 18th UEFA Champions League campaign, equalling Ajax for the most seasons in the competition by a Dutch club. They are featuring in the competition in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2015-16/2016-17.
