This is only the fourth time in the 21st century that Lens has won its first away game of a Ligue 1 season, the second in a row, after doing so in 2001-02, 2010-11 and now 2024-25 (16 seasons – W4 D4 L8).
Lens recorded his sixth away win in Ligue 1 in 2025 (10 games – W6 D1 L3), already equalling his tally from the previous year. Only Paris SG has done better over this period in Ligue 1 (8 wins).
Le Havre has not won at home since last March and a 3-2 victory against Nantes. Since then, HAC has gone four home games without a win (D1 L3) and has only one victory at home in 2025 (10 games – W1 D2 L7).
Le Havre have won just one of their last eight Ligue 1 matches against Lens (D3 L4), but that was their most recent one: a 4-3 victory in March 2025. HAC could win back-to-back matches against RCL in the top-flight for only the second time, after having done so in the 1998/99 season.
Le Havre have only won once in their last 11 Ligue 1 home games against Lens (D5 L5), that was on 7 November 1998 (3-1). RCL are also the club that HAC have hosted the most in the top-flight so far (26th time in this match), posting a 32% success rate against RCL (W8 D8 L9).
With their defeat against Monaco in MD1 (1-3), Le Havre are now the team having conceded the most goals in Ligue 1 in 2025 (45), overtaking St Etienne (43).
Defeated by Lyon on the first matchday (0-1), Lens have not started a Ligue 1 season with two defeats since 2014/15 (0-1 at Nantes then against Guingamp). For Le Havre, dominated by Monaco on MD1 (3-1), this has not happened since 1995/96 (defeats at Lens then Strasbourg).
Le Havre have lost their last two opening home games of a Ligue 1 season (1-2 v Brest in 2023, 1-4 v Paris SG in 2024) but have never lost their first home game of a campaign in three consecutive seasons in the top-flight.
