Patrick Dorgu’s goal against Hellas Verona ended Lecce’s 442-minute goal drought in Serie A.
Lecce returned to victory in Serie A against Hellas Verona, breaking a nine-match winless streak (3D, 6L). The last time Lecce defeated the Gialloblù with a clean sheet in Serie A was in February 1990.
Patrick Dorgu has contributed to 50% of Lecce’s goals in this Serie A season, scoring twice, matching Nikola Krstovic. Only Kenan Yildiz (three goals) is younger than Dorgu among players with at least two league goals this term.
Hellas Verona are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A matches against Lecce (W6 D3), after they had lost three of the previous four (W1). The Gialloblu have enjoyed a run of at least 10 consecutive matches without defeat against an opponent in the top-flight only against Fiorentina (11 between 1984 and 1989) and Pisa (10 between 1968 and 1988).
Lecce have failed to score in five of their last six Serie A matches against Hellas Verona - against no opponent have they failed to score more often in the last four Italian top-flight seasons they’ve participated in (since 2019-20) - five also against Torino and Inter, but both across seven games.
Hellas Verona have won - keeping a clean sheet - in each of their last three Serie A away games against Lecce, after they failed to win in the first six (D2 L4); the Gialloblù have never enjoyed a longer run of consecutive away wins against an opponent in their history in the competition.
Lecce have failed to score in seven of their nine Serie A games this season, more than any other team in the big five European leagues in 2024-25.
Lecce have lost four of their last six home games in Serie A (W1 D1), as many defeats as they had suffered in their previous 13 home games in the competition (W3 D6).
