Insights / Post Match

Newcastle are only the fifth side to draw both of their opening two away games of a Premier League season 0-0, after Arsenal in 1998-99, Charlton in 1998-99, Liverpool in 2005-06, and West Ham in 2013-14. It's only the second time the Magpies have ever seen their first two away games of any league season finish goalless, after 1901-02.

Leeds United are only the seventh side to see both of their first two home games of a Premier League season see no non-penalty goals, and first since Watford in 2015-16.

This was Newcastle's second 0-0 draw in the Premier League this season (also v Aston Villa on MD1) - more than they had in 2023-24 (0) and 2024-25 (1) combined.
