Leicester vs Manchester United

With tonight’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, Leicester City the first team in English top-flight history to lose seven home games in succession whilst failing to score in each.

Manchester United have won each of their last four league games against Leicester City, last enjoying a longer winning run against the Foxes between January 1999 and April 2004 (run of nine).

Leicester have conceded 1,001 goals across their 679 Premier League games, the 12th side to concede that many in the competition, whilst the Foxes have taken the fewest matches amongst those sides to reach that figure.

Having been unbeaten in four Premier League games against Man Utd over the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons (W2 D2), Leicester have lost their last three against the Red Devils in the competition without scoring.

Manchester United have lost just one of their last eight Premier League away games against Leicester (W4 D3), going down 4-2 in October 2021.

Manchester United have beaten Leicester three times in all competitions this season – they’ve beaten three sides four times in the same campaign before (Sheffield Wednesday 1993-94, Chelsea 2010-11, Nottingham Forest 2022-23), while the only team Leicester have lost to four times in a season is West Bromwich Albion in 1980-81.

Leicester have lost 12 of their last 13 Premier League games (W1), including their last five without scoring a single goal. Only four teams have lost more consecutively in a single campaign without scoring – Ipswich Town (7 between February-April 1995), Everton (6 between August-October 2005), Crystal Palace (7 between August-September 2017) and Norwich City (6 in December/January 2021-22).

Leicester have lost each of their last six Premier League home games by an aggregate score of 15-0. No team in English top-flight history has ever lost seven in a row without scoring.
