Leicester City have won more games (15) and scored more goals (63) against Southampton than they have against any other side in the Premier League.
Southampton have lost four consecutive league games against Leicester for the very first time in the top four tiers, while the Foxes have done the double over the Saints in the top-flight for the first time since 1999-00.
Jamie Vardy's strike was Leicester's first home league goal since December (Bobby De Cordova-Red v Brighton), ending the Foxes run of 826 minutes without scoring at the King Power Stadium.
Following their 3-2 win at St Mary’s in the reverse fixture, Leicester are looking to complete the Premier League double over Southampton for the first time since 1999-00.
Southampton have lost their last three league games against Leicester – they’ve never lost four in a row against the Foxes before.
Leicester have lost their last nine Premier League home games by an aggregate score of 22-0. The only team in English league history (top four tiers) to fail to score in 10 consecutive home games are Wolves between December 1984 and April 1985.
Southampton’s 80 goals conceded this season is their most in a single league campaign since 1971-72 (also 80), while they last shipped more in 1967-68 (83).
Defeat for Southampton will confirm them finishing bottom of the Premier League this season. It would be the third time they’ve finished last (also 2004-05 and 2022-23), the joint-most of any side in the competition (Sunderland in 2002-03, 2005-06 and 2016-17).
