Lille have lost just two of their last 19 Ligue 1 matches against Lens (W12 D5).
Lille are the first team to win by more than a one-goal margin in Ligue 1 while opening the scoring in the injury time of the second half since Paris against Guingamp on 31 August 2013 (also 2-0).
Lille have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four Ligue 1 matches, as many as in their previous 15.
This will be the 99th derby of the North between Lens and Lille in Ligue 1 (28 wins for Lens against 37 for Lille, 33 draws). RCL have lost 12 of their last 21 games in the top-flight against Losc (W3 D6), after losing only one of their first eight in the 21st century (W3 D4).
Lens only has a 20% home win record against Lille in the 21st century in Ligue 1 (3/15 – D8 L4), their lowest percentage among the teams they’ve faced at least twice over this period. However, RCL are unbeaten in their last three home games against Losc in the top-flight (W1 D2).
Lille failed to score in their last Ligue 1 match (0-0 v Monaco) but have not failed to score in two consecutive games in Ligue 1 since May 2023 when they had a goalless draw in Monaco after a defeat at a team managed by Will Still (0-1 in Reims).
Lens have kept five clean sheets in their last six home games in Ligue 1, which is as many as in the previous 17. They have, however, not scored in the two most recent ones, but have never experienced a longer drought since their return to L1 in 2020.
This is the first time that Lens and Lille (14 points after 8 matches) are equal on points when they’ve faced each other in Ligue 1 since September 2010 (4 points each after 4 games played). To find such a tie at a later stage of the season, you have to go back to March 2008 (both 33 points after 27 games).
