Stade Bollaert-Delelis - Lens
Lens have won their first two games this season in Ligue 1 (1-0 at Angers, 2-0 v Brest), a first since 2001-02 (4).
Brest have lost their first two games of a Ligue 1 season for only the second time in the 21st century, after 2020-21. It's also only one fewer defeat than in SB29's last 23 matches of last season (W13 D7).
Lens have won three of their last four Ligue 1 games at home (D1), after having won just two of the first six in 2024 (D1 L3).
Since Lens returned to Ligue 1 ahead of the 2020/21 season, their record against Brest has been perfectly balanced with three wins for each side and two draws; Lens have the opportunity to win two consecutive top-flight matches against SB29 for the first time since August-December 1986 (2).
Lens have lost just one of their 12 matches against Brittany clubs (Brest, Rennes, Lorient) since the start of the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season (W7 D4), however, that loss came against Brest on MD1 last season (2-3).
Lens have not won their first two games of a new Ligue 1 season since 2001-02, when RCL went on to win each of their first four.
Brest conceded more goals than any other side in the opening round of this season’s Ligue 1 2024/25 (5 v Marseille) but have only conceded more than five goals after two matches in a season once across their previous 18 seasons in the top-flight, in 2020/21 (7).
Lens have won just four of their nine Ligue 1 home games in 2024 (D2 L3), or 44%; in 2023, they were the team that had the most wins (14/19 – D3 L2) and had the highest success ratio on home soil (74%).
