Lille vs Angers

Lille have won their first two games of a Ligue 1 season for the first time since 2006-07. Angers have lost their first two matches of an L1 season for the first time since 2018-19.

Lille have won each of their last six Ligue 1 matches against a promoted side, the best current run among teams currently in the top-flight. Losc have scored at least two goals in each of those six wins.

Angers have lost their first two Ligue 1 games in 2024/25 (0-1 v Lens, 0-2 at Lille), as many losses as in their last 12 Ligue 2 matches in 2023-24 (W6 D4).

Lille have won five of the last nine meetings against Angers in Ligue 1 (D2 L2), as many as in the first 33 (D10 L18).

Winners 1-0 in November 2022, Lille could record consecutive home wins against Angers in Ligue 1 for the second time in six home meetings (2 in May-September 2019), while this had never happened to them in the first 16 encounters.

Lille defeated Reims on MD1 (2-0) and could win each of their first two matches of a Ligue 1 campaign for the first time since 2006-07.

Although Angers are the team that has lost the most games in their last two seasons in Ligue 1 (45 in 2021-22 and 2022-23, at least five more than any other side over the period), SCO never lost each of their first two games in those two campaigns (2 wins in 2021-22, 2 draws in 2022-23). The club could start a Ligue 1 season with two defeats for the first time since 2018-19.

In Ligue 1 at home this year, Lille have taken the most points (20), scored the most goals (23) and have the best goal difference (+13 - 10 goals conceded).
