Liverpool have now scored in 37 consecutive Premier League matches, their longest ever run of consecutive games scored in top-flight history.

Arsenal suffered their first away Premier League defeat since losing 1-0 to Newcastle United in November 2024, ending a run of 15 away games unbeaten.

Dominik Szoboszlai became the first player to score a direct free-kick in a Premier League match between Liverpool and Arsenal since Philippe Coutinho in August 2016, and first at Anfield since a Patrik Berger strike in August 1999.

Liverpool are winless in six Premier League matches against Arsenal (D4 L2), their longest winless run against the Gunners since going eight without a win between October 2007 and April 2011.

The last three Premier League games between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield have all been drawn, while the Gunners are winless in their last 12 away games against the Reds (D5 L7) since a 2-0 win back in September 2012, with manager Mikel Arteta starting for the Gunners that day.

Only Liverpool vs Spurs (206) has seen more goals of all Premier League fixtures than Arsenal vs Liverpool (198). Since the 2015-16 campaign, it has seen the most goals of any fixture (78 in 20 games).

This is the earliest the previous season’s top two sides are meeting in a Premier League campaign since 2017-18, when Chelsea won 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur in their second game.

Arsenal have won their first two Premier League games without conceding in 2025-26 – in only one of their last 20 seasons have they won their first three games, doing so in 2022-23. The last time the Gunners won their first three matches without conceding in a league season was 1924-25.
