Malmo FF vs Ludogorets

Malmö and Ludogorets have met twice before in European competition, with the Swedish side advancing 3-2 on aggregate from a UEFA Champions League qualifying play-off tie in August 2021.

Ludogorets have faced Scandinavian opposition (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) 10 times previously in European football, winning just two of those matches (D3 L5) and failing to score in five overall.

Since February 2020, Malmö have won just one of their 16 UEFA Europa League games (D2 L13), including seven defeats in eight at home while failing to score in six.

Ludogorets have failed to win any of their last 16 away UEFA Europa League games (D6 L10), since a 3-0 victory over Ferencváros in October 2019.

Erik Botheim scored four UEFA Europa League goals last season, the most by a Malmö player in a major European campaign since Lars Larsson in the 1986-87 Cup Winners’ Cup.
