Mansfield Town vs Wigan

Wigan Athletic have won each of their last five away FA Cup games, after enjoying just two victories in their previous 11 (D3 L6).

Mansfield Town have failed to get past the third round of the FA Cup in 10 of their last 11 attempts, doing so in January 2008 via a victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wigan have progressed from a third round FA Cup tie for just the second time in their last six attempts, (also in 2020-21 when they were ultimately knocked out by Stoke City in the fourth round.

This is the first FA Cup meeting between Mansfield and Wigan since November 1989, with the Latics winning a first round tie 2-0.

Having lost four consecutive matches against Wigan between 1996 and 2003, Mansfield won the last meeting between the sides 2-1 earlier this season in League One.

Mansfield have progressed from just one of their last 10 FA Cup third round ties, beating Brighton 2-1 in 2007-08.

Wigan have won six of their last eight away games in the FA Cup (D1 L1), including each of the last four in a row.
