Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98 - Montpellier
Montpellier conceded 29 goals after nine Ligue 1 2024-25 matches, the highest tally for a team at this stage since Rennes in 1969-70 (also 29 – 14th at the end of the season).
Montpellier suffered two consecutive home defeats in Ligue 1 for the first since January-February 2023 (3). MHSC had never suffered 2 defeats in a row at home in L1 by at least 3 goals (after their 5-0 loss v Marseille).
Toulouse won eight away matches in Ligue 1 in 2024, their highest tally of victories away from home in a single calendar year in the top-flight.
Montpellier have a 52%-win rate against Toulouse in Ligue 1 since their return to the top-flight in 2009-10 (13/25 – D5 L7), their highest percentage against a current L1 team. TFC are also the only current top-flight side against which the Héraultais won home and away against in 2023-24 (3-0 at La Mosson, 2-1 at the Stadium).
Montpellier have conceded 26 goals after eight games in Ligue 1 2024-25, the highest tally for a team at this stage since Rennes in 1969-70 (28 – 14th at the end of the season). The last team to have reached the 30-goal mark before even playing their tenth L1 game was Metz in 1949-50 (32).
Toulouse have won only six points after eight Ligue 1 games this season, their lowest tally at this stage of a season in the top-flight since 2003-04 (5 – finished 16th overall).
Montpellier are coming off the heaviest defeat in a professional home match in their history (0-5 against Marseille), but have not lost two home games in a row in Ligue 1 since January-February 2023 (3 - just before the start of Michel Der Zakarian's second term).
Toulouse lost each of their last two away games in Ligue 1, after losing only once in their first nine L1 away matches in 2024 (W7 D1).
