Montpellier conceded 29 goals after nine Ligue 1 2024-25 matches, the highest tally for a team at this stage since Rennes in 1969-70 (also 29 – 14th at the end of the season).

Toulouse have won only six points after eight Ligue 1 games this season, their lowest tally at this stage of a season in the top-flight since 2003-04 (5 – finished 16th overall).

Montpellier are coming off the heaviest defeat in a professional home match in their history (0-5 against Marseille), but have not lost two home games in a row in Ligue 1 since January-February 2023 (3 - just before the start of Michel Der Zakarian's second term).

Toulouse lost each of their last two away games in Ligue 1, after losing only once in their first nine L1 away matches in 2024 (W7 D1).
