Monza vs Como

Como won a derby against Monza scoring at least three goals between Serie A and Serie B for the 1st time since 04/10/1970: 3-1 away in that case too, in the second Italian division.

Always considering three points for a win, Como have collected at least 33 points after 31 Serie A games played for the 1st time since 1951/52 (39 in that case).

Monza are only the 2nd team from Lombardy to have won just two games after 31 Serie A games played in the three-point-for-a-win era, after Brescia in 1994/95 (also two). Overall, none of the 13 teams with two wins or less after the same number of matches played in a single addition of the tournament have ever managed to avoid the relegation in Serie B at the end of the championship.

Following their 1-1 draw on 30 November, Como could become the first team against which Monza have drawn both their first two matches in Serie A.

Monza are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 games against Como between Serie A, Serie B and Serie C (W5 D4); the only success of the Lariani side in the period was on 3 April 2022 in Serie B at Sinigaglia.

Monza have avoided defeat in 11 of their last 14 games against newly-promoted teams in Serie A (W5 D6), although their last success against these teams was on 16 March 2024 (1-0 vs Cagliari) – three draws and two defeats since then.

Como have lost their last four derbies of Lombardia and have they never recorded more defeats in a row against these teams in a single Serie A campaign (also 4 in 1951/52).

Monza have avoided defeat in three of their five home games played in the second leg this season (W1 D2), as many times as in the entire first leg (D3 L7); however, in the last four Serie A home matches they have scored just one goal (Armando Izzo vs Parma).
