Monza vs Fiorentina

Monza have won their second match in Serie A this season, afte the win against Hellas Verona in the last October (3-0).

Since the beginning of January 2024, only Sebastiano Esposito (July 2002, seven goals with Empoli) is younger than Daniel Maldini (October 2001, six goals with Monza) and Lucas Beltrán (March 2001, six goals with Fiorentina) among players who have scored more than five goals with a single team in Serie A.

Among strikers who have scored at least five goals in the last three seasons in Serie A, no one has scored more in percentage terms in January than Patrick Ciurria: 57 percent, level with Gianluca Caprari (four in seven both).

Fiorentina and Monza have faced each other seven times between Serie A and Serie B, with the Brianza team having won only once: 3-2 at the U-Power Stadium on 23 April 2023 in the top flight (D3 L3).

After the 2-2 draw in the first leg, Monza and Fiorentina could draw both matches of a single championship for the first time in their history.

Fiorentina have won their last seven matches against the team that started the matchday in last position in the Serie A table, scoring 22 goals in the period (3.1 on average) and not conceding any goals in the five most recent matches.

Monza have lost their last five championship games, the Brianza team have never recorded six defeats in a row in Serie A (also five in the first five games ever in the top flight, between August and September 2022).

Since Serie A returned to 20 teams (from 2004/05), only two of the 13 teams that earned 10 or fewer points after 19 Serie A matches of the season have avoided relegation: Crotone in 2016/17 (nine in that case) and Cagliari in 2007/08 (10).
