Nice vs AS Roma

This will be Nice’s first ever European meeting with Roma; the French side have previously lost each of their seven European matches against sides from Italy with the last coming in a 4-1 defeat to Lazio in last season’s UEFA Europa League.

Roma have lost just two of their 11 games in European competition against French sides (W6 D3), winning four of their last five since March 2007 (L1).

Last season in the UEFA Europa League, Nice were just one of two sides to fail to win any of their eight league phase games (D3 L5), with only four sides conceding more goals than their 16.

Roma have won 42 matches in the UEFA Europa League (2009-10 onwards), with only Villarreal (54) and Sevilla (48) winning more matches in the competition. They are on 148 goals in the competition, the third-most behind Villarreal (164) and Lazio (149).

Nice manager Franck Haise is winless in all ten of his UEFA Europa League matches (D4 L6), the joint most games of any winless manager in the competition’s history along with Marco Silva.
