Oviedo vs Real Madrid

This will be the first official match between Real Oviedo and Real Madrid since November 2002, when they faced each other in the round of 32 of the Copa del Rey in Asturias, with Real Madrid winning 4-0 thanks to braces from Javier Portillo and Tote.

Real Oviedo have won only one of their last 11 LaLiga matches against Real Madrid (D4 L6), a 1-0 victory in December 1998, with Fernando Vázquez and Guus Hiddink in charge of the respective teams. 

Real Madrid have not won any of their last four away games against Real Oviedo in LaLiga (D3 L1) since a 3-2 win at the old Carlos Tartiere in September 1996. It’s their longest run without a win at the Carbayón’s stadium in the competition since November 1952 (G8 D3 L5).

Real Oviedo have won only one of their last six LaLiga games (D1 L4), an away win in May 2001 when they beat FC Barcelona 1-0 with a goal from Jaime Jordán.

Real Madrid have won 11 and lost three of their last 14 LaLiga matches, and could go 15+ games without a draw in the competition for the first time since September 2016 (W16 L1) under Zinedine Zidane.
