PAOK vs Maccabi Tel Aviv

The previous meetings between PAOK Salonika and Maccabi Tel Aviv were in qualifying for the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League – the Israeli side won both legs in the third qualifying round.

Maccabi Tel Aviv’s only previous major European trip to Greece came in the 2023-24 UEFA Conference League, winning 4-1 at Olympiakos in the first leg. They lost the second leg 6-1 at home and were eliminated at the last 16 stage.

This is PAOK Salonika’s 10th season competing in the UEFA Europa League and the first time in back-to-back seasons since doing so between 2013-14 and 2016-17. They’ve won just four of their last 20 games in the competition (D4 L12).

None of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s last 16 matches in major European competitions have ended in a draw, winning eight and losing eight across those 16 games.

PAOK Salonika manager Razvan Lucescu has lost 73% of his matches in the UEFA Europa League (16/22), the highest percentage of any manager to manage 20+ games in the competition since 2009-10.
