Qarabag vs FCSB

As well as being the first ever meeting between Qarabag and FCSB, this is the first ever match between an Azerbaijani side and a Romanian side in major European competition.

In all European competitions (including qualifiers), Romanian sides have won six of their eight meetings with sides from Azerbaijan (D1 L1), most recently Universitatea Craiova winning both legs against Sabail FK in qualifying for the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League.

Including qualifiers, Qarabag have lost their last five home matches, shipping two or more goals in every defeat. Before this, they’d lost five of their previous 33 on home soil (W14 D14).

FCSB have kept four clean sheets in this season’s UEFA Europa League – only in 2005-06 have they kept more in a major European campaign (9 in 14 games in the UEFA Cup).

Qarabag’s Marko Jankovic has won 21 fouls in the UEFA Europa League this season, the most of any player. Indeed among players to play 2,000+ minutes in the Europa League, only four players average more fouls won per 90 mins than Jankovic (3.2).
