RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund

RB Leipzig have won six of their last eight games in all competitions against Borussia Dortmund (L2), including all four home fixtures since summer 2021. BVB won the reverse fixture 2-1 but were last victorious in Leipzig in the Bundesliga in January 2021 (3-1).

RB Leipzig have only won one of their last nine Bundesliga games (D6, L2) and are winless in their last four league fixtures (D3, L1), a joint negative club record, having never endured a run of five consecutive winless matches in the top flight before.

With six points from his first five Bundesliga games in charge, Niko Kovac has made the worst start of any Borussia Dortmund coach since Jürgen Röber in 2007 (both W2, L3). 10 points from their first eight matches in the second half of the season is BVB’s lowest return since 2008/09 (8 points) and their overall tally of 35 points from 25 matchdays is their worst record in 10 years (30 points in 2014/15).

RB Leipzig have picked up just nine points from their eight games in the second half of the season, their worst ever return in the Bundesliga. Overall, RBL are on 39 points after 25 matchdays, their joint-lowest tally at this stage of a top-flight campaign (also 39 in 2017/18).

Since coming from behind to beat RB Leipzig 2-1 in the reverse fixture, Borussia Dortmund haven’t collected a single point from a losing position in the Bundesliga (L7). Leipzig themselves have already dropped 14 points from winning positions in 2024/25 – only VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg have squandered more (15 each).
