Real Sociedad vs Espanyol

Real Sociedad have won their last five LaLiga matches against Espanyol and, if they win again here, they will equal their best run of consecutive victories against them in the top-flight, achieved between March 2000 and September 2002 (6).

Espanyol have not won any of their last seven away games against Real Sociedad in LaLiga (D2 L5), their longest run without a win in San Sebastián in the competition since April 1982 (G13 D2 L11).

Espanyol have lost eight of their last 10 visits to Basque opponents in LaLiga (W2), but won their last one 1-0 against Alavés in February 2025. The Pericos have not won 2+ consecutive away games against such opponents in the competition since September 2015 (W2).

Real Sociedad have won only one of their last nine LaLiga games (D3 L5), although that victory came in their last home game, a 3-2 win over Girona in May.

Espanyol opened their 2025/26 LaLiga season with a win over Atlético Madrid, and are aiming to win both of their first two games of a league season for the first time since the 2008/09 season, when they defeated Valladolid and Recreativo de Huelva 1-0 under Bartolomé Márquez.
