Dinamo Zagreb have won an away match in the UEFA Champions League for only the second time, and the first time since beating Ajax in November 1998. They had failed to win in any of their previous 22 such matches (D3 L19) before tonight.

RB Salzburg have now lost seven of their last eight UEFA Champions League matches (D1), failing to score in six of those games. In fact, the Austrian side have failed to score in each of their last three matches in the competition, their worst run since September-October 1994 (also 3).

Dinamo Zagreb have won a UEFA Champions League away match against an Austrian side for the first time, having lost their previous two such encounters (vs Sturm Graz in 1999 and RB Salzburg in 2022).

This will be the ninth meeting between RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb in all European competitions, the most either Salzburg or Zagreb have faced a single opponent in Europe; Salzburg have won four of the previous eight (D3 L1).

Dinamo Zagreb have played two away UEFA Champions League matches in Austria and have lost both games 1-0, against Sturm Graz in 1999 and RB Salzburg in 2022.

RB Salzburg are without a win in their last seven games in the UEFA Champions League (D1 L6), failing to score in five of those games, with their last victory in the competition coming courtesy of a 2-0 group stage away win over Benfica September 2023.

Dinamo Zagreb are looking for their first win in eight games in the UEFA Champions League (D2 L5), last tasting victory in September 2022 at home to Chelsea in the group stages.

RB Salzburg have lost each of their last five home games in the UEFA Champions League; the longest current run in the competition. This is as many defeats as they suffered through their first 15 home games in the competition (W5 D5 L5), between September 1994 and October 2022.
