Rennes vs Nice

Rennes failed to lose their final home game of the season for the eighth time in a row in Ligue 1 (W6 D2), their last such defeat coming in May 2017 (2-3 v Monaco).

Nice lost their final away game of a Ligue 1 season for the first time since May 2019. The Eagles had gone unbeaten in all five such games since (W3 D2).

Rennes have won each of their last two Ligue 1 receptions (2-1 v Nantes, 2-0 v Nice), as many wins as in their previous seven (L5).

Rennes have won only three of their 19 meetings against Nice over the last 10 seasons in Ligue 1 (D5 L11) but have won the last two at home.

Rennes have lost 18 of their 32 Ligue 1 2024-25 matches, their highest total at this stage of the season since 1986-87 (20). That is also the last season during which SRFC conceded more than 18 defeats in total (26 in all, finishing 20th and suffering relegation at the end of the season).

Winners of their last three Ligue 1 matches, Nice could make it four for the third time since the start of last season (after October-November 2023 and February-March 2025), as many as in the previous five seasons combined.

Nice have 57 points after 32 matches in Ligue 1 this season, their second-highest total at this stage in the last 45 years only behind 2016-17 (70) - the season of their only top three finish over that period (3rd).

Rennes have only drawn 12 of their 104 matches in Ligue 1 since the 2019-20 season (62W 30L). Only Tottenham (11) have recorded fewer among the teams that have played the last five seasons in the five major European leagues.
