Rīgas FS vs Ajax

This is both Rigas FS’ first meeting with Dutch opponents, and Ajax’s first game against a Latvian side in all European competition.

Dutch sides have won six of their eight previous meetings with Latvian opposition in all European competition (D1 L1), also keeping six clean sheets in these games.

Rigas FS are winless in all 12 of their major European games so far (D4 L8) – the only sides to play more games in history without winning are Vaduz (16) and Pezoporikos Larnaka (14).

Ajax have won just four of their last 16 games in the UEFA Europa League (D5 L7), including just one of their last eight away games in that run (D3 L4).

Bertrand Traoré scored Ajax’s goal in their 3-1 defeat to Lazio on MD6 – as well as scoring, he had six shots and 15 touches in the opposition box, the first Ajax player to have both of those totals in a major European game since Dusan Tadic against Young Boys in March 2021.
