St Etienne have failed to score in their first three games of a Ligue 1 season for the first time in their history. This is the second time (after 2009/10) that les Verts have started a Ligue 1 season with three straight defeats, but they have never begun a campaign with four defeats in a row.
Beaten 1-3 by Paris before the international break, Lille have not lost two Ligue 1 games in a row since the 35th and 36th rounds of the 2021/22 season under Jocelyn Gourvennec.
St Etienne, who were beaten 0-2 by Le Havre in their first home league game of the season, are yet to lose two home games in a row in 2024 in all competitions.
