SC Freiburg and 1. FC Heidenheim have met five times so far in professional football. The only defeat Freiburg have suffered to date came away from home in the Bundesliga last season (3-2, otherwise W3, D1). The 3-0 win in Heidenheim earlier this season remains SC’s biggest victory in the Bundesliga in 2024/25.
After winning 1-0 at VfL Bochum last time out, SC Freiburg could now record back-to-back Bundesliga wins for the first time since mid-October. Freiburg average 2.1 points per home game in 2024/25 (19 points from 9 games) – only FC Bayern (2.8 points) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (2.4) have been better at home.
Since the introduction of three points per win, no side in 16th has ever had as few points after 20 matchdays as 1. FC Heidenheim currently do (14). For the first time in Bundesliga history, three teams have suffered at least 14 defeats across the opening 20 matchdays (Bochum, Kiel and Heidenheim).
1. FC Heidenheim have only won one of their last 15 Bundesliga games (2-0 vs. Union Berlin, otherwise D2, L12), claiming just five of a possible 45 points, a league low since the start of October. FCH are the only side to have lost all three games so far in the second half of the season – they were in fourth place with six points after the opening three matchdays of 2024/25.
Since a 2-0 victory at 1. FSV Mainz 05 at the end of September, 1. FC Heidenheim are without a win in their last seven Bundesliga away games (D1, L6), a joint negative club record and something that has only otherwise happened to them across their opening seven away games of last season.
