SC Freiburg vs Werder Bremen

SC Freiburg have won four of their last five Bundesliga games against SV Werder Bremen (L1), as many victories as they managed in the previous 27 top-flight meetings. SCF have now also managed back-to-back home wins against SVW, a first for them in the Bundesliga.

With 36 points from 22 games, this is SC Freiburg’s third-best Bundesliga season after 2022/23 (41 points) and 1994/95 (40 – converted to 3 points for a win).

SC Freiburg have won three consecutive Bundesliga games for the first time under Julian Schuster, celebrating as many victories as they managed in their previous 12 league matches combined. SCF most recently won three straight games in December 2023 and four in a row at the turn of the year in 2020/21 (5).

SV Werder Bremen have lost back-to-back Bundesliga games for the first time since March 2024 (4 in a row back then). Werder have only managed one win in seven league matches since the winter break, a joint league low (1-0 against Mainz, otherwise D2, L4).

SC Freiburg have kept three consecutive clean sheets for the first time under Julian Schuster in the Bundesliga, something they last managed in December 2023. SCF have only recorded four straight shutouts in the top flight once before, at the turn of the year in 2000/01 under Volker Finke (in 5 straight games).
