Sevilla have finally ended a run of 19 consecutive LaLiga games without a win against Barcelona (D4 L15), dating back to a 2-1 victory in October 2015, losing the last seven, their longest consecutive losing streak against the Catalans in the top flight. They have also ended their worst home run against them (P9 D3 L6) in the competition.
Sevilla have won two consecutive LaLiga games for the first time since the start of last season. The 4-1 victory recording the heaviest win over Barcelona in all competitions at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán ever (the heaviest, away & home, since a 4-0 defeat in April 1951 under Campanal).
Sevilla have been awarded a penalty in LaLiga against Barcelona for the second time in the Opta era (since at least the 2005/06 season). The first in over 19 years (conceded by Iuliano Belletti on Antonio Puerta and converted by Aitor Ocio) was on May 13, 2006, three days after they won the UEFA Cup (Europa League) for the first time.
Sevilla have not won any of their last 19 LaLiga games against Barcelona (D4 L15), a run that stretches back to October 2015, losing their last seven in a row – their longest consecutive losing streak against the Catalans in the top-flight.
Barcelona have avoided defeat in their last nine away LaLiga matches against Sevilla (W6 D3), their longest unbeaten run away to them in the competition.
Barcelona have only suffered one defeat in their last 18 away games against Andalusian teams in LaLiga (W12 D5), 1-0 in February 2023 against Almería, with Xavi as manager and Rubi on the Almería bench.
Sevilla have not won any of their last four home games in LaLiga (D1 L3), conceding exactly two goals in each of them. Sevilla have managed just one home victory in LaLiga this calendar year (W1 D6 L6), fewer than any other side to feature in both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns.
Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 15 away games in LaLiga (W11 D4), their best such run since October 2022 (P19 W13 D6).
