Strasbourg recorded their largest victory in Ligue 1 since 6 January 2021 (5-0 v Nîmes). In contrast, Angers suffered their biggest defeat in the top flight since 5 March 2023 (0-5 v Montpellier).
Strasbourg has 15 points after seven Ligue 1 matches in 2025-26 (W5 D2), their highest total at this stage of a season in the top flight since winning the French title in 1978-79 (17 – counting 3 points for a win).
Strasbourg have won 17 of their 26 Ligue 1 matches in 2025 (D4 L5), with only their next Ligue 1 opponents, Paris SG, doing better since the start of the calendar year (19 before their match against Lille).
Angers have won their last two matches against Strasbourg in all competitions (3-1 in Coupe de France then 2-1 in Ligue 1) and could win three in a row for the very first time in 67 meetings between the two sides.
Strasbourg have lost two of their last four Ligue 1 matches (W2), as many defeats as they suffered across their previous 16 games in the competition (W11 D3).
