Verona vs Cremonese

Cremonese (2W, 1D) are the first newly promoted team to finish each of their first three games in a single Serie A season without defeat since Sampdoria in 2012/13 (three wins with Ciro Ferrara on the bench).

Emil Audero made nine saves in the match against Hellas Verona, his personal best in a Serie A game – the last goalkeeper to make as many saves in a single game in the top flight was David de Gea (against Napoli last March).

Hellas Verona (2D, 1L) failed to win any of their first three games in three of the last five Serie A seasons, as well as for the first time since 2022/23 (1D, 2L in that case) – this had only happened to them in three of the previous 10 top-flight tournaments in which they took part.

Hellas Verona have scored in seven of their eight Serie A matches against Cremonese (W3 D4 L1), with the only exception being the defeat on 20 October 1991 (0-3).

Hellas Verona are unbeaten in four home games against Cremonese in Serie A, thanks to two wins (in 1985 and 2023) and two draws (in 1989 and 1992).

Hellas Verona have earned just one point from their first two games of this season, breaking the trend of the last two seasons in which they had achieved two wins in their first three matches (2023/24 and 2024/25), while in the two previous seasons they had achieved no success at all (2021/22 and 2022/23).

Since the last time they scored more than one goal at home in Serie A in November 2024 against Roma (3-2), Hellas Verona have scored only five goals across their last 13 home games.

Cremonese have won their first two games of this season, while the Lombardy side had never previously managed more than one victory in their first three Serie A games of a season: the earliest they had achieved two wins after four matches, in both 1993/94 and 1994/95. Only three newly promoted teams have won each of their first three Serie A games of a season: Sampdoria (twice – in 2012/13 and 1982/83), Roma in 1952/53, and Palermo in 1948/49.
