SC Freiburg haven’t beaten any side more often in the Bundesliga than they have VfL Wolfsburg (17 times, same as against Stuttgart and Gladbach). Freiburg have won five of their seven top-flight meetings with the Wolves since summer 2021 (L2).
VfL Wolfsburg have collected a league-low two points over the last six matchdays (D2, L4) – no team is currently on a longer wait for a league win (Holstein Kiel also 6 games). This is the Wolves’ longest spell without a Bundesliga victory since between December 2023 and March 2024 (11 games). VfL’s 2-2 draw in Mainz last time out did at least end their four-game losing streak.
SC Freiburg have won their last two Bundesliga games after previously enduring a five-match winless streak (D3, L2). Freiburg have picked up 48 points from their 30 matches this season (finished last season with 42) – they have only ever been better off at this stage on three occasions, most recently in 2022/23 (56 points).
VfL Wolfsburg are still without a Bundesliga win at home in the second half of the season (D4, L2), a record shared only with Holstein Kiel. VfL’s current return of 15 points from 15 home games has only been worse on two previous occasions (most recently 14 points in 2017/18). The Wolves could now suffer three straight losses at home for the first time in 2024/25.
SC Freiburg are currently on a five-game unbeaten run away from home in the Bundesliga (W3, D2) for the first time since between February and April 2023 – they last put together a longer undefeated streak on their travels from October 2012 to January 2013 (6 games). Since losing 4-0 at Stuttgart in January, SC have only conceded three goals in five away games.
