Washington Spirit W vs Bay FC

The Spirit won both meetings with Bay FC this season, recording a 2—1 home win in March and a 3—0 road win in July. Only Gotham FC (+6) had a better goal difference against Bay FC than the Spirit this season (+4, tied with Kansas City).

The Spirit shattered club records for wins (18, previous best – 12), points (56, previous best – 39), goals (51, previous best – 36) and goal difference (+23, previous best – +9) in the 2024 season. The Spirit enter the playoffs having won five straight home matches for the first time in team history.

Makenna Morris has contributed to at least one goal in each of her four career regular-season starts, the second player in NWSL history to do so (Nadia Nadim – first 6). Since late September, Morris has contributed to five goals (4 goals, 1 assist) in regular season play as only Gotham FC’s Esther González (6) had more in that time.

At least one of Racheal Kundananji (2 goals, 2 assists) or Asisat Oshoala (4 goals) has been involved in each of Bay FC’s last seven goals (excluding own goals), including Kundananji scoring the first brace in club history on Saturday. Overall, at least one of Kundananji and Oshoala were involved in 16 of the club’s 29 goals (excluding own goals) during the regular season.
