Washington Spirit W vs Bay FC

Washington Spirit won all three meetings with Bay FC last season, recording come-from-behind wins in both home matches, including in last season’s playoffs. The Spirit were the only NWSL team last season to record two comeback wins against a single opponent across all competitions.

Washington is unbeaten in its last 12 home matches against NWSL teams from west of the Rocky Mountains in all competitions dating back to September 2022 (W10 D2, incl. playoffs). Eight of the 10 wins for the Spirit in that time were by one-goal margins, including both against Bay FC last season.

Bay FC has lost only one of its last six regular-season away matches dating back to the end of last season (W3 D2). Bay FC has been shut out in only one of its 14 regular-season away matches, the fewest of any team since the start of last season.

17-year-old Chloe Ricketts has totaled 984 minutes in all competitions for the Spirit. She is 16 minutes away from becoming the fourth player to play 1000 minutes for NWSL teams across all competitions before turning 18, joining Olivia Moultrie (2556), Kennedy Fuller (1324) and Melanie Barcenas (1096).

Joelle Anderson contributed to a goal in each of Bay FC’s first two matches this season, providing an assist in the season opener before scoring on Saturday. The only Bay FC player to record a goal contribution in three straight regular-season matches is Racheal Kundananji, who did so in October-November last season.
